The Association of Midland Artists is concerned with the production and appreciation of contemporary art. Painters, Sculptors, Printmakers and Potters are encouraged to become members, to exhibit their work and to enter local and national ‘open’ competitions.
Meetings
AMA meetings are held monthly (except July and August) at 10am on the first Thirsday of the month in the Satchwell Room of the Baptist Church, Chandos Street, Leamington Spa.
Speakers, mainly practising artists are invited to give talks about their work illustrated by slides and sometimes actual work. Occaisionally art historians and art marketing consultants will give talks based on their particular fields of expertise for the benefit of all. Everyone has a chance to chat with the speakers over coffee afterwards. It is also an opportunity for regular contact with other artist members.
The talks are included in the membership fee. Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting paying £2 which includes coffee and biscuits.
Studio Outreach Groups/workshops
Within the membership three outreach groups have formed at which discussion and criticisms take place. Weekend workshops are organised from time to time. Check the Events page for updates.
