Over the years, apart from painting, I also have had a strong interest in three-dimensional work, and was able to develop this area on the Mid-Warwickshire College Diploma Course. “The Collection” – shown – is one of a series. Some earlier works were shown at The Royal Academy Open Exhibition in 1989 and 1990.
After some highly experimental work during the Diploma and Post-Diploma Courses I felt the need to return, at least temporarily, to more figurative painting. “Pendeen Lighthouse” is from this series.
At times, the figurative and abstract strands in my painting have merged, resulting in semi-abstract lanscapes. The two small landscapes “Mountain Stream” and “Secret Valley” are typical of this genre.
The latest series of paintings, which include “Mardi Gras” and “Fiesta” are inspired by both music and the moods of nature
