As part of Warwickshire Arts Week 2008 I am using my home as an exhibition space. Abstract images inspired by landscapes & natural shapes. Medium - Pen & Ink, Gold Leaf, Intaglio & Photography. Open times are July 7,8,12,13,19 & 20, 10am - 5pm. If these times are not convenient please give me a call to arrange your own viewing.

The wilderness, beauty & isolation on the west coast of Scotland has had a dramatic influence on me & was the initial impetus for starting to draw/photograph in an attempt to capture what l was feeling & seeing. My work is based on an emotional response to the natural world & the elements that create & influence it's evolution.At the heart of my work is an appreciation & awareness of the forces of nature & the people who understand & work with them.My inspiration comes from three main sources; Natural Forms - landscapes, organic shapes, cell structure, rocks, plants & trees, etc. Laws of Nature (not sure how else to describe this) - the natural phenomena/laws within which we live & are subject to, including, the creative & evolutionary process that we & our universe are part of. Indigenous Tribal Knowledge/Ceremonies - the connection that ancient/tribal people have with the seen, unseen & imagined worlds + how they celebrate the forces of nature, the seasons & their existence/relationship with them .So, my art comes from within & without. These three inter connected areas regularly present me with an abstract shape, idea or concept which l feel compelled to capture & isolate, thereby drawing attention to, acknowledging, praising & highlighting it's beauty & existence - this will form the basis of a new image, whatever the medium........... more info to follow.
